The 4-star By The Sea Resort is located in the centre of Port Douglas, next to Four Mile Beach and just a 2-minute walk from the restaurants along Macrossan Street. Great staff, very good location and free equipment hire. Felt like home!

Outrigger Apartments Port Douglas offers a heated saltwater swimming pool, a tropical garden and free Wi-Fi. The Outrigger is centrally located close to the beach and the marina for excursions on the water. Restuarants are only a few blocks away. There were lots of large trees on the property to provide important shade as well as a large natural stand of trees across the street. The bird life was prolific here which is so nice to see. The room was clean and beautiful with a well appointed kitchen allowing us to cook anything. The cupboards even had Tupperware containers to put leftovers in after eating. I liked the salt water pool instead of chlorine. Amanda and Peter were such helpful and gracious hosts. They did numerous bookings for us and provided information on excursions that we would not have known ourselves eg which ones are best, the weather forecast, eg. I would highly recommend the outrigger as a place to stay. The snorkeling on the outer reef is absolutely magical - you have to try it!

Spacious, block out curtains in bedrooms, lovely balcony with comfy chairs. It was fab being across the Rd from the beach as you could hear the ocean. The pool also looked out on beautiful vegetation. My family loved the tennis court. Also 15 min walk to town. There are no lifts so ask for ground floor apartment if don’t like stairs.

There is nothing not to like about this property The location is exceptional, a block from 4 mile beach, sitting on Macrossan Street and all the restaurants and shops. The deluxe apartment was well laid out with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. The real treasure at this property is Ken, the owner of this property. His interest and kindness towards his guests is wonderful. He is full of local information, recommendations for places to visit and restaurants. He genuinely cares and is interested in his guests Ken, made our stay an exceptional experience. I would definitely recommend this property and stay here again
