It boasts excellent scenery, featuring a dedicated viewing deck on the third floor where you can admire the Cangshan Mountain. There is also a "sky mirror" perfect for photography. The toiletries are well-stocked, and the bath amenities are from Penhaligon's. The breakfast is delicious, and the overall experience is highly recommended.

The hotel is a reconstructed traditional old home with inner lovely courtyard, a lovely wood tea table to welcome guests. We had a family room with two large rooms, one with two very comfortable double beds, the other a lounge. The air-conditioning works very well. The equipment is all new and good quality, with a great bathroom with good water pressure. Our room was very quiet, like the rest, overlooking the beautiful tiled roofs of Jianshui old houses. If you like Chinese breakfast then the host will gladly prepare the soups for you, but if like Western breakfast there is a pastry shop about 150 meters away where you can buy yoghurts, muesli, cakes and eat them in the inner garden downstairs. All can be put in the fridge in the kitchen. Our host Shen Ang is unbelievably hospitable and knowledgeable. He helped us discover the city and drove us to see the double Dragon Bridge, the old French train station, the new Jianshui city and took us to the train station, he is amazing. Only 10 minutes away, past the pastry shop, is the famous city gate Chao Yang, with access to the main pedestrian boulevard by which we accessed all the historic sites in Jianshui: the Confucius Temple, the Family Zhu Gardens with the over 40 villas where this local dynasty lived.

This charming boutique inn was one of the most amazing hotel stays I've ever experienced in my life. For me, it hit all the right notes. It was comfortable, modern, invigorating, great location, the village was enchanting, the hosts were extremely kind, the food was exceptional, the setting is as good as it gets, the building and courtyard had character and history, there was fresh Yunnan tea in the rooms, the views were exceptional, it was quiet and calm, and on and on... Highly recommended, I think about this place every day since I left.

This has to be the best place to stay in the entire city. For one thing, its one of the few original wooden hotels to survive the fires. Most other places are modern constructions, but here you're staying in the real deal. The hotel is also located just on the edge of the old town, which is a real scrum. Its great to be close to the action but able to remove yourself from it. And then there's the hosts, who are *amazing*. So kind, generous, helpful. Excellent English. They plied me with snacks, helped me do laundry, and gave me lots of ideas and advice. The hot water was very hot, the internet was fast, the bed was comfortable. If you're looking for an friendly place to stay that isn't a gigantic chain-style hotel, this is the spot for you.
