A spacious room adorned with large windows and an unused but available AC. and super clean bathroom. The kitchen, a haven of cleanliness and enjoy other travelers. The family is really kind, trustworthy, attentive, caring, humane, and authentically helpful. Though the internet might not be the speediest, a satellite antenna investment promises improvement in just a few days. Additionally, they offer snorkeling equipment for a mere $2.50, making your underwater adventures affordable. While I wish they also rented bikes for easy exploration, my overall stay was marked by warmth, cleanliness, and the charm of a truly authentic experience.

Air conditioning, hot showers, big rooms with storage space, comfy beds, clean with daily housekeeping, filtered drinking water, free breakfast every morning on a beautiful terrace, walkable to the main part of town but far enough removed for quiet, laundry available, quick communication. But best of all, the hostel hosts Trudy and Ivan were the most wonderful people and completely made our stay. Ivan has lived his whole life on San Cristobal and worked as a fisherman, and Trudy is descended from the first descendants of Floreana Island (also in the Galapagos). They are so kind and friendly, helped us with information and recommendations, and we so appreciated getting to learn about them and their story. If you stay at Hostal Cattleya, you support a true local family. We love you Trudy and Ivan!

The property features mountain and garden views, and is 1.1 km from La Estacion Beach. The apartment has family rooms. We had a very big room with an own kitchen and bathroom. It was nice to do some cooking. When traveling for a long time it can be a drag to always have to go to restaurants. We spontaneously decided to stay 2 nights in San Cristobal but had booked all of our time on Santa Cruz. The host was so nice to give us a reduction as we were not around for two days.
