Takayama isn't that big, so you're already within walking distance of all the main attractions and many places to eat. Facilities: my room had a more or less full size kitchen, a huge refrigerator, a washing machine and multiple trash cans. This was easily the most complete hotel room of my entire stay in Japan. There is a pretty big balcony that you can access by way of sliding doors. And there is also a sliding mosquito screen to keep out bugs. Perfect! What I like about the building: While this hotel only has 1 elevator for like 10 floors, there is an open stairway inside the building that you can use. It is not limited to emergencies only. I have gratefully made use of this when I wanted to leave the hotel but there was an entire family with suitcases waiting for the elevator. Another big plus, the hotel has a secondary entrance/exit, so you don't have to pass reception when you want to get in or out of the hotel.

Host is very welcoming. She ensures we are comfortable with the place and even checked on us everyday on anything we need. The place was very clean.

Absolutely stunning. I'm so glad I booked this house. Sitting in the hot tube was amazing especially while it was raining outside. It is not an Onsen, just a hot tube (as advertised).
