Situated in Shizuoka, 48 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Backpackers Hostel TSUBAMENOYADO features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Attractively situated in the Shimizu Ward district, this hostel is set 17 km from Shimizu Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 49 km from Rengejiike Park Fuji Festival. This was by far my favourite stay on my Japan trip. The hostel is incredibly comfortable and peaceful located in a small, quiet village. The owners are very kind and easy to communicate with. I was welcomed by the owner’s wife, who was very kind and spoke English well, so it was easy to communicate even though I don’t speak any Japanese. I got clear instructions on how to check in, what to do in the area, etc. What really stood out is how incredibly clean the hostel was. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, as was the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with rice, tea, sauces available for use. The convenience store is literally next to the hostel, so it was also easy to buy groceries and there was a microwave, rice cooker, hob and kettle all available in the hostel. The shower was great (amazing water pressure) and they had towels, as well as other cosmetic products available at the reception. The beds were large and comfortable and the room was a good size. Overall, I could not have imagined a better stay and for the price, it was definitely worth it. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I highly recommend this hostel!

At the holiday home, units have bed linen and towels. the cabins are beautifully build, high up in between the trees. The inside is mainly made of wood, the sealings are high, with a large table and with the partly tatami floor they are the perfect combination of Western and Japanese style. The terrace is very large and perfect for eating outside. We both tried the complimentary bbq and the pizza oven and loved the experience. We stayed in the tree house and we had our own outlook post with view of the sea and a hammock. The location is also close to a beautiful beach and some nice walking trails and there is so much to see and do on the peninsula we could have easily enjoyed ourselves for two weeks. Unfortunately we only had 6 days, but both us and our kids enjoyed the experience very much.
