Enkhuisen was by far, our favourite place in the Netherlands. Beautiful, peaceful, uncrowded and authentic. Everything is within walking distance. We took the steamtram and boat for a leisurely, fun and historic journey to the town - (Keep your luggage to a minimum if bringing eg store big bags at Amsterdam Centraal, Sloterdijk storage is unreliable) Families with young kids thoroughly enjoyed the fun activities along the way as did we (an older couple). In addition to wonderful walks, Enkhuisen the town has the best museum (Zuiderzee) - a living, breathing historic collection of homes and businesses dating back around a hundred years ago showing what life was like back then for the fishing community before the dike wall changed their way of life completely. A fascinating, absorbing trip through time. So much to see and do. Now, the accommodation: Absolutely wonderful, our hosts Ellen and Dirk, could not have been more helpful and kind. They did everything possible to make us feel welcome and comfortable. And the accommodation itself was an utter delight - spacious, comfortable bed, great shower, gorgeous view out over the canal and awesome breakfast choices. We would encourage everyone to come here to experience the best of the Netherlands. We would love to come again.

De Ginkgo in het hart van Hoorn is gelegen in Hoorn, op 37 km van A'DAM Lookout, 38 km van Rembrandthuis en 38 km van Artis Zoo, en biedt accommodatie met een patio en gratis WiFi. It was like staying in an elegant historical apartment with furnishings from all over the world. The location was perfect, close enough to the train station, in the centre of town, but quiet bedroom at back of building. Hosts had thought of everything and more - extra touches appreciated!

Bed en breakfast Onder aan de dijk bevindt zich in Warder, op 27 km van A'DAM Lookout, 28 km van Rembrandthuis, en 28 km van Artis Zoo. The house is lovely, having everything you need. The breakfast is delicious, homemade with local products!!!! The host is super friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed very much our stay.

"De Walvisch", appartement in authentieke boerderij heeft watersportfaciliteiten, en biedt accommodatie in Edam met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de rivier. Everything was perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, very spacious, and had books and toys available. Diana was flawless—attentive, friendly, and provided helpful information about Edam and Amsterdam. The kitchen was well equipped, making everything very convenient. Edam is a lovely city, and although we had planned to spend most of our days in Amsterdam, we were so captivated by Edam that we set aside time to explore it as well. Following the hostess’s recommendation, we attended the cheese market in Edam, which was a very special experience. We also commuted to Amsterdam by bus, which was indeed very easy and convenient.
