There is a free cocktail for those who staying. They used a QR code to get into the hostel and room, which was new to me and interesting. It is close to food places. The owners were lovely and helpful. I just loved the vibe of the Kaoh Siung port city. I would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely amazing place! It was the best place we stayed in Taiwan. Highly recommended. Everything is beautiful and clean. The host was lovely and gave us a lot of details about the area.

A Touch of Zen heeft een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, een terras en een bar in Kaohsiung. A Touch of Zen is a fantastic place to stay in Kaohsiung. It was our first time in Taiwan and neither my partner nor I speak Mandarin so it was especially helpful that the hosts are fluent in English. They provided maps and answered questions about things to do in Kaohsiung (which there's a ton - it's a great place to visit). The guesthouse is conveniently located within walking distance of the Lotus Pond and the surrounding temples - a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride or taxi to the High Speed rail station (which of course gets you easily to Kaohsiung from Taipei). If you love film A Touch of Zen is a special treat because the tasteful Japanese decor (the building is a former naval home - traditional Japanese construction) includes some fun film props - and the chance to watch something on Netflix projected in the common area. While we were there the hosts kindly set up a movie for us to watch. The area of the guesthouse itself is great to walk around with wonderful places to eat close by. The beds are comfy with tea and water at your disposal. All around a wonderful place to stay.

The location is right next to MRT station, night market, central street, easy to get around. The rooms and toilet are quite clean.

I thought I booked this blue (DELUXE ROOM, TWIN BED) for NTD 3000 with promotion ofcourse. But when we arrived, they told us that this room is NTD 4500. So I was not and am not happy with what happened to us. We had to stay at double bed room. I didn't want to argue because they did not know English and there was Storm passing in that area at that moment. Not sure if it is Booking.com problem or theirs. I would be cautious of future booking with Booking.com
