Tongariro Crossing Lodge ligt in een rustige omgeving met een groot aangelegd terrein en een schilderachtig terras in de tuin met uitzicht op de bergen. Tongariro Crossing Lodge was a great place to stay for our family (parents, 2 adult daughters). Our main purpose was to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the next day. However, after consulting with Louis (owner) and looking at the predicted cloud cover, we opted to delay the hike an extra day Louis kindly suggested alternative shorter hikes/activities near by, which were very enjoyable. Louis had also reserved spots for us on the shuttle (to/from hike) but upon our arrival and discussion, we decided to drive ourselves to the carpark which ended up being a good idea since the day we hiked was extremely cloudy, not clearing up until about 1pm. Driving ourselves allowed us to be flexible and enjoy the stunning views for another hour instead of rushing back to make the 5:30pm shuttle. In addition to the room (ours was newly renovated), you could also pay for a continental breakfast and sack lunch which Louis brought to our room the night before the hike. Very convenient and yummy!! Lodge was also within walking distance of restaurants (two that we ate at had great views of mountains, sunset) and small store. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay - perfect for us :). Louis was also very responsive prior to our trip, answering my many questions.

Findlay Chalet - National Park Holiday Home, een accommodatie met een tuin, ligt in National Park, op 15 km van Mount Ruapehu, 16 km van Taranaki Falls, en 22 km van Whakapapa. Great location, so cosy and such a gorgeous home. Had everything we needed and plenty of room for all. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Tongariro! 10/10

National Park Home ligt in National Park, op 16 km van Taranaki Falls en 22 km van Whakapapa, en biedt accommodatie met voorzieningen zoals gratis WiFi en een flatscreen-tv. The location was very nice, The owner cooperated to get back the wristwatch that he left there. I want to compliment them on their support.

Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. De super mooie ligging. Super vriendelijk personeel. Met inchecken hebben ze op ons verzoek een shuttle bus geregeld voor de " hike". Echt top.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. LOVED the outdoor bathtub, and the room was very comfortable with a king bed and fridge/bar area. Great outdoor living room with couch and small table. Good restaurant within walking distance, Would love to stay for much longer!

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. We really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

Het ligt in het Nationaal Park, Mountain Heights Lodge biedt 6 zelfstandige motelkamers en 4 kamers met eigen badkamer. De BnB-kamers zijn geschikt voor kinderen ouder dan 14 jaar. Everything was perfect!! Thank you very much for the warm welcome. The accommodation had all the facilities we need. We definetely recommend this lodge !!
