Great location - a short walk to Konpira Grand Theatre and the main shrine in Kotohira, Konpira-san. Both are a must-visit. Tasty, traditional Japanese-style breakfast. We would love to return.

Perfect location less than a minute from the stairs to the shrine. Only a 10 minute walk to the train. Loads of shops line the stairs. The hotel itself was exceptional: staff, facilities, onsen, restaurant, room - all were absolutely top notch. One of our best stays in Japan!

Our stay at Asan Kotonami was nothing short of extraordinary! Spending one night in this traditional ryokan was an unforgettable experience. Everything about the stay was perfect, from the serene ambiance to the impeccable service. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. The traditional 10-course meals provided a cultural experience unlike any other. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it a feast for both the palate and the eyes. It was a culinary journey that left me wishing I had booked at least two nights so I could indulge in these amazing meals again and again. We loved this hotel concept! The facilities are quite comprehensive, staff is highly attentive and the hotel is very clean. We enjoyed making extensive use of the sento. The evening udon noodle treat are a nice touch. Throughout the hotel, one can sense the attention to detail.
