The location is also perfect for walking around Windermere and its surroundings. The communication was also really helpful. We walked up Orrest Head thanks to the recommendation from the hosts - a lovely view at the top!

We had a fantastic stay at Thornbank Guest House in Bowness-on-Windermere. It’s run by Jane and Mark who are a lovely, lively couple who made us feel genuinely welcome. The rooms were beautifully kept: spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. The location is excellent. Just a 10 minute walk from the shops, restaurants, and attractions around Windermere. Breakfast was great every morning and really set us up for the day. Jane was incredibly helpful, offering great tips on where to go, what to book, and the best timing for different activities, which made a big difference to our experience. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Lake District!
