They organised a fantastic early morning Periyar bird tour, a trip to Abaraham's Spice Garden and an evening watching the martial arts show for us. Sunila even provided us with a lovely egg curry on the night we arrived. I wish them all the best with their Homestay, they really deserve it!

An establishment absolutely to be recommended! Simple, clean, beautiful decoration in the corridors and rooms, very attractive price but above all an unparalleled welcome! Hot water in the shower, there was no AC in our room, but in Kumily there is no need because the nights are cool and above all mosquito-free! Abdul and his wife Aisha are always ready to help with finding cars, drivers, useful contacts for the Park and all with a smile and kindness. In short, it's like being at home!

This property is an absolute gem and one of my favorite stays in India. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. Even the most basic rooms are incredibly spacious—more like a one-bedroom apartment—blending traditional charm with modern minimalism. The setting is breathtaking, nestled within a plantation where you wake up to birdsong and crickets. We even spotted deer during our stay! The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, making the experience feel personal and welcoming. Daily Ayurvedic massages added to the relaxation, and a highlight was the cooking class led by Chef Sibil, Arun, and their team, where we learned to make a fantastic Kerala fish curry. Akhila also gave us an insightful tour of the plantation, which made us appreciate the place even more. One of the unique touches here is the drinking water—it is harvested on-site and tastes incredibly fresh! The breakfast spread was exceptional, with perfectly prepared dishes, fragrant fruits, and fresh juices. We also tried the plantation’s coffee, a lovely light to medium-bodied brew. If you visit, do not miss their honey—it is outstanding! Food here is a true highlight. Some of my top recommendations are the All-Spice Chicken, Kerala Beef Coconut Fry, Banana Fritters, and Kerala Parotta. Everything was cooked to perfection. This place offers a rare balance—it is intimate and peaceful, yet has all the comforts of a high-end retreat. My favorite spot was the balcony, overlooking the lush greenery of the plantation—a perfect place to unwind. Smaller properties sometimes come with limitations, while larger ones can feel impersonal. This one is just right—private and exclusive, yet offering everything you could need for a perfect stay. Highly recommend!

It is also ideally located to take a cooking class and it is within 5min walk of the bus station. The recommendations of the home owner were fantastic and useful. He even helped us to book walks in the reserve before arriving in Periyar. We really appreciated our stay.

Located in Kumily, Springdale Heritage features an outdoor pool, a restaurant and tranquil accommodation surrounded with lush greenery. The amenities are good. It's important to highlight the world CLEANLINESS of the room n permisses are EXCELLENT.. Also one more thing aesthetics of the buildings are super, gives us a almost heritage feel. Staffs are very good with excellent helping mentality 💯 👍🏼
