Ideally situated in the Yufuin Onsen district, this hotel provides a spa and wellness centre, as well as a hot spring bath. The property is non-smoking and is located 25 km from Beppu Station. This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

SEKIYA RESORT Galleria Midobaru offers a buffet or Italian breakfast. Amazing facility, staff were incredibly friendly and respectful. The room was stunning with an incredible view and amenities within the room.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Nice location away from the main street. Lovely building. Good service with privacy during baths and meals. Food was delicious.

There is luggage storage space at the property. The view was amazing, the room is very bright and large. Staff was friendly and we have no complaints!

Featuring mountain views, hokkein-onsen kougen-terrace is situated in Kokonoe and offers a wellness area with a hot spring bath and a public bath. Boasting a lift, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The ryokan also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Big rooms. The breakfast and dinner were both great and affordable. They even had a string quartet playing over dinner which was cool.

Spa and wellness facilities including a hot tub and a hot spring bath, as well as the possibility to arrange massage treatments, are at guests' disposal during their stay at the accommodation. This was one of my favorite stays on our 3 week trip to Japan. The hotel was lovely, facilities were amazing and good value for money. I loved the public bath, rooftop pool and buffet breakfast.
