I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We were warmly greeted. Very good breakfast, but too much for us, and they changed it according to our wishes. Also they arranged for us jeep safari in Minerya national park (as per their advice due to elephant's path) and we saw a lot of those incredible animals. Special thanks to Ravi - family member who speaks very good English and advised us for many things.

We had a wonderful time at Oleena's quiet and peaceful homestay. Breakfast, dinner and accommodation were great and Jeewa can take you anywhere you want at reasonable prices - be it to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, an ayurvedic retreat or a spice garden. We would return any time.

Staying at Sweet Home Tourist Rest turned out to be one of the best decisions we made on our trip to Sri Lanka. Instead of just a room, we had an entire private apartment, including a comfortable living room, which gave us so much space to relax. It was quiet, clean, and located in a peaceful part of town, making it easy to rest and recharge between our adventures. And considering the price, it felt like an absolute steal. What really made this stay unforgettable were the authentic experiences arranged by the hosts. Nilukshan helped us explore some of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites with thoughtfully organized tours, the Wilpattu safari was stunning, and our visits to Anuradhapura and Mihintale gave us a deep appreciation for the country’s culture and history. Everything was well-timed, smooth, and stress-free. We also had the chance to join a Sri Lankan cooking class with Malsha, which ended up being one of our favorite memories. The class was fun, hands-on, and filled with flavor, we left not just with full stomachs, but with recipes and techniques we can take home with us. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, if you want comfort, authenticity, and connection this is the place. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Both a bicycle rental service and a car rental service are available at Habarana New Star Homestay, while cycling can be enjoyed nearby. The pool was a dream in the heat! The owners were really great people, super helpful. No matter what the question or concern. They always helped. Organized a TUKTUK a Safaritour or a Scooter! The bed was super comfortable!!!! I loved enjoying the delicious breakfast on the balcony and in the evening there were fireflies.

10 km from Pidurangala Rock in Habarana, Priyavimana resort provides accommodation with access to a hot spring bath and spa facilities. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We had the best stay in Priyavimana. The room is very good for the price you pay, off course basic but very clean (cleanest we stayed so far in Sri Lanka). The owners are warm hearted people. The hospitality was extraordinary: the nice chats, the father of the house who drove us around to go hike Pidurangala rock and see Polonnaruwa, always checking if we were good and safe...We felt at home. The dinner is super nice, good local food. They also help you a lot with getting good prices to safari and getting a taxi. If you are looking for a place to stay in Habarana: this is it!! We would recommend 100%. We hope We get to Come back.

Buffet and Asian breakfast options are available at the accommodation. We upgraded to the A-frame tree house with a private pool a few days before arrival, and it was the best decision. The pool was the perfect size to cool off for our family of five. We loved our stay here. While this hotel might be a bit further from Sigiriya, they organised a driver in a safari jeep to take us where we needed to go. We also went on a game drive to a nearby national park, which was amazing; we saw so many elephants. You can walk into some local shops as well. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were really good—best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka.

Our children loved being in nature and having a shower outside! Breakfast was delicious and we had an amazing bbq by the pool one evening that was truly special. The pool was a great size and perfect for cooling off after climbing Sigiriya! I would highly recommend staying here.

Beyond the resort's impeccable amenities and dining, its location proved to be an excellent base for exploring the region's iconic attractions. We found it incredibly convenient to visit Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park, and Polonnaruwa. If you're looking for a relaxing, well-located, and truly memorable stay in Sri Lanka, Sun Shade Resort is an absolute must.
