Many thanks to the hotel manager Mr. Asanka, I really enjoyed the stay and the staff was friendly.

Guests can relax in the tropical garden or by the outdoor swimming pool. Good Karma Restaurant, which is located on the beach, serves both Sri Lankan and international dishes. A selection of seafood is also offered. We stayed for 3 nights in October at this very nice hotel with rooms set within the garden, making it very quiet and peaceful. Nice pool and rooms only a short walk to a lovely, quiet beach. Free yoga is available every morning and the massages at the spa were also fantastic. However, the best part of the hotel was the staff, who couldn't do enough for us. The manager of the hotel organised a free moped ride to a nearby shop to get supplies and also let us borrow mosquito repellent as we had run out. He was also really helpful in organising a safari trip to Yala National Park and organised us a meal on the beach on our last night, complete with cake and chocolate biscuits for my girlfriend's birthday and a free king coconut in the afternoon. The food at the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay! We would definitely return to this hotel if we visited this area again.

The accommodation offers a spa centre. Guests at Sleeping Elephant Beach Resort will be able to enjoy activities in and around Tangalle, like cycling. An utterly beautiful, serene place to enjoy peace and quiet. The villa was super clean and comfortable, the restaurant provided delicious meals and the staff and hosts couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The location was on a long stretch of idyllic golden sandy beach with no one around. The pool area perfect. If you’re looking for tranquility and quality, look no further.

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. I think this might be the best place I've stayed at in my travels, atleast in this price range. Staf are great, facilities excellent, garden pretty, location is out of the way but there is easy access by bike or tuktuk, pool is gorgeous and food is amazing (so no real need to go anywhere else). I really can't fault the place. Was sad to leave and would gladly come back. Highly recommended!

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. An amazing hotel surrounded by beautiful nature, filled with the sounds of birdsong and the peaceful melodies of the environment. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a full board package, and my favorite dish was the Sri Lankan prawn curry at the Turnstone restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. A special mention to Harsha at the main restaurant, who took excellent care of my drinks and was always warm and welcoming. I also tried the Indian head massage at the hotel spa, which was deeply relaxing. The therapist asked how I was feeling and ensured the pressure was to my liking, making the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel has a large swimming pool set in the heart of nature, perfect for daytime relaxation. Throughout the day, I only saw about 10 people there, which made it feel peaceful and exclusive. I especially enjoyed sipping fresh coconut water by the pool – a truly refreshing experience. The room was very spacious and had everything I needed, including a minibar, coffee, and tea-making facilities. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this hotel and would confidently recommend it to my friends. I will definitely return.

I loved the quietness of the hotel. It was very very clean and spacious. The AC worked great in the heat. Also the foods Lakshita made us were perfect. Lovely breakfast that was super abundant, and also marvelous dinners with true Sri Lankan flavours. My girlfriend had some requests, like, she wanted pancakes, vegetarian food, No spicy food etc. This was not a problem and he made it all happen with a smile.

The accommodation is fabulous, beautiful bungalows, pool, well equipped gym and great bar and restaurant area. But what really made this stay so memorable was the staff. I can’t praise them enough they were simply incredible. Special mention to the general manager, the boys working in the bar and a wonderful driver we had. We felt so welcome and well looked after. Food is simple and fresh and we had delicious cocktails each evening. We also had two wonderful massages. We can’t wait to come back soon to this haven on the lagoon!

The Alpha Monkey hotel & Tree house offers a spa centre. Wow - really special and unique stay here. Truly on the beach. Loved hearing the sea right next to us while in bed. Shower was also great - really powerful. Staff were also lovely and the hotel’s bar/ restaurant was the perfect place for sunset drinks on the beach.
