There’s no place like home, but Mango Tree house comes close. Sachith and his wife are so welcoming, the home cooked food is delicious and the room is really nice with an outdoor shower! They helped us book a safari which was amazing. Great experience!! Recommend 100%

The room was beautiful, the outdoor bathroom is so peaceful and Mum’s cooking was amazing!!!! I felt really well looked after, the staff always checking to make sure I was happy and even a delicious aloe Vera drink on arrival. My host even gave me directions to get to Ella on the bus and came to make sure I found the bus stop ok- this was so lovely! My safari trip was organised for me and they thoughtfully gave me snacks to take with for the early start. I really recommend booking your stay here! Thank you Hasthi, Family and staff!

Offering a barbecue and views of the garden, green view safari resort is located 8 km from Udawalawe National Park. We have been to a number of very good family run b&bs throughout Ceylon. All of them good. But this one deserves a 10 because the owners really put a lot of effort in making clients happy. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and the safari tour organized by them also. The driver was very experienced and went through roads outside the beaten path to find animals which in this season are hiding and difficult to find. Great. The room was very clean, aircon worked well, mosquito nets etc. Just one tip: europeans like their breakfast with coffee or tea served together with food. After only for lunch and dinner.

Owners were absolutely amazing, breakfast was super nice. Went to safari that was organized by owners and it was really good, had a amazing guide. I really recommend this place, will definitely come back again one day 💯

We will forever cherish the memories we made at the green paradise cottage! The whole family was so caring and welcoming. They truly represent Sri Lankan hospitality. Our sons played together, laughed, ran, swam in the river although they didn’t speak the same language. They took turns offering to hold our baby to allow us to eat or shower or just get ready. We immediately felt at home. The room was spacious, a crib was provided for our baby, there was an AC and mosquito nets. The garden is so lush and peaceful. The food was delicious (we had both breakfast and dinner here) The safari they organized for us was incredible. The cottage is about 20 min away from the park entry. We saw so many elephants and our guide Pasindu was knowledgeable, drove safely, helped us set up both our kids with their car seats in the jeep, and was genuinely nice. We are so happy we chose to come here instead of way too popular Yala. There weren’t many jeeps and everyone was respectful of the animals, something that was very important to us. We highly recommend staying here and hope we get to one day revisit Sandaru, Yenul and their family ❤️ Thank you for everything Laura and Joseph

Absolutely spotless property with the most amazing staff and food! The Sri Lankan curry and Sri Lankan breakfast were incredible and the portion sizes were huge. The added extras were a bonus such as the complimentary 10 minute massage, the welcome drink, afternoon tea and mocktail with dinner. The location was perfect for safari. The staff were so accommodating and friendly!! The attention to detail at this hotel was fabulous, we could not understand how they manage to keep everything so clean and pristine but they do. We both agreed that this is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had!!

We had the best time and highly recommend booking with monkey jungle cottage. Their rates are very reasonable. We will definitely be back and wish we could have stayed longer.

City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.

We were met with tea and bananas - it's so important after a long way. This place in Udalawawe has fair price because when we were trying to book a room in other places for the prices we saw on the site, later it came obvious that the prices are actual only if you also book safari in this or that exact place. In Olivi palace you see the real price, if you don't need safari, it's okay. It was perfectly clean. The design of the room is sweat and nice. The place is very close to Elephant transit home.
