This hotel was truly wonderful. The rooms were very nice and modernly furnished. We had a room with a small terrace, which was a really pleasant spot to sit and relax. There was also a beautiful outdoor pool with plenty of space to unwind, and the quality of the food was excellent.

Tissa Rainbow Guest & Yala ligt in Tissamaharama, op minder dan 1 km van Tissa Wewa, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. The guesthouse is close by the lake and by foot 10 min to the main road to have some food. The safari as really nice as well, but there is no extra guide if you prefer so. The driver was the guide. We booked the tour through the guesthouse. The room was perfect for a quick stay and the family was really nice and helped with everything. We also just got a juice after our safari from the host.

Falling asleep to the sounds of the wild was both thrilling and peaceful. The highlight for us was the safari itself—our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making every sighting special. We were lucky enough to spot a variety of wildlife, and the kids couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every meal felt like a treat, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Sharing stories around the fire after dinner made the evening even more memorable. Overall, this experience was everything we hoped for and more. Our family left with full hearts, happy memories, and a strong desire to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a magical blend of adventure, comfort, and nature.

Moon Light Guest House ligt op slechts 1,1 km van het busstation van Tissamaharama en op 3,2 km van het prachtige Tissa Lake. Het biedt een restaurant en gratis fietsen. I loved to stay with Randy and his family. His place is next to a beautiful lake full of wildlife, and they have a lovely garden with many birds. The room was big and comfortable and they made an effort to make me feel right at home. Randy showed me around on his tuktuk, and took me to see some local crafting processes. He knows a lot about the culture and history of Tissamaharama and showed me many beautiful places. I really recommend staying here and getting to know the area around.

Tranquil Sanctuary Yala bevindt zich in Tissamaharama, op 14 km van Tissa Wewa, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. Our stay was nice. The room was very clean and spacious. The shower worked perfectly with cold and hot water. And the terrace views were super nice. The area was quiet and surrounded by nature. I recommend this place!

Kingfisher Beach Resort-Yala bevindt zich in Kirinda, op 2 minuten lopen van Nidangala Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Op het laatste moment besloten om hier te overnachten na de rit van ella richting galle. Wat een geluk dat we dit hebben gedaan. Hier ervaar je het echte Sri Lanka en dat was een verademing na het toeristische Ella. De bungalow op het terrein is luxe en enorm groot en wat hygiëne betreft een van de betere. Het strand is enkele minuten lopen en enorm mooi en zeer rustig ( 4 mensen). Helaas was zwemmen niet mogelijk vanwege ruw weer. En dan, het eten wow wow wow. Shehan de uitbater is tevens de kok en wat kan die man koken. We hadden gamba's vooraf en als hoofdgerecht 2 red snappers, allebei anders bereid en daarbij waterspinazie met knoflook en chili en een aardappelsalade. De gaarheid van de vis in z'n geheel was van een heel hoog niveau dus lekker glazig en zeker niet droog. Hierbij een lekkere fles Soave. Sehan is een top gastheer bijgestaan door een hele lieve dame. Dank jullie allebei voor een onvergetelijk verblijf en ik denk dat we de komende 10 dagen die ons nog rest in Sri Lanka niet beter kunnen eten. Groet Helene en Johan

Chena Huts by Uga Escapes - All Inclusive ligt in het diepe zuiden van Sri Lanka, op slechts 5 minuten van het Nationaal Park Yala. Absolutely incredible place in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea and in the buffer zone of Yala national park, amazing wildlife around the hotel as well as on safari. The staff were all so kind and helpful and the food was incredible, the best we have had in Sri Lanka and a fantastic variety! All meals, drinks and safari are included, a very special place!

Flameback Eco Lodge ligt in Yala, op 42 km van Situlpawwa, en biedt een conciërgeservice en gratis WiFi. Het is een heerlijke locatie. Het uitzicht op het meer. De zonsopgang vanuit je lodge is adembenemend. De staff is heel erg vriendelijk en niets is hen teveel. Het eten is voortreffelijk.
