The staff were attentive to every detail, with standout service from Ms. Chee and Mr. Sunny. Everything was well-organized, the food was excellent, the planned activities were enjoyable, and the sailing was smooth. We simply couldn’t get enough of the stunning beauty of Halong Bay!

Good food and excellent service. Halong bay itself, though the islands were truly beautiful, had a lot of trash in the water, but that has nothing to do with our experience on the cruise.

As a solo traveler, I was a little nervous about joining a cruise, but Calista made me feel completely at home. The ship is beautiful – brand new with elegant decor and open spaces that invite you to relax. I loved having a glass of wine on the deck while watching the sunset over the bay. It was peaceful and awe-inspiring. The staff treated everyone like family – shoutout to Trang for making sure I had everything I needed. The food was incredible, especially the lemongrass grilled shrimp and mango sticky rice. I also joined the cooking class and met some great people. It was a serene and enriching experience – highly recommend to fellow solo travelers!

Vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options can also be requested. Fabulous cruise and well worth the money. This is once in a lifetime experience for me personally and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I was able to meet other solo travelers and we had an amazing time together. The excursions were really fun and there was a never ending supply of food for the guests. The pool was amazing and so was the happy hour. Alcohol isn’t included in the fare but the prices aren’t that bad (even for a luxury cruise). The gym is excellent and I was able to sneak in an early morning workout. Fortunately, the weather was great when we were on the cruise and the sunset was fabulous to watch. Halong Bay had a lot of cruises around the area but I wouldn’t call it crowded. Also, amazing customer service. The pickup from Hanoi, the waiting area in Halong, the boarding and disembarking and finally the drop off. Essence Grand is running a fabulous service here and I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for it. The staff are quite amazing and honestly, they are the biggest reason why this cruise is a massive success.
