Located on a private concession within the malaria free Addo Elephant National Park, River Bend Lodge offers luxury accommodation, spa facilities and private game drives. Free WiFi is available. The grounds were really beautiful with cottages surrounding artfully landscaped grounds that were filled with birdsong. The chef was truly excellent and we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners. Our park ranger, Paul MacKenzie, was outstanding. He knew the wildlife really well and had many tales from his interesting life. Rafa, one of the elephants blessed us with his presence at the gate on the day of our game drive and were fortunate to spend a lot of time with one of the lions. The Park concession was very good because it gave us long views. In contrast, during our solo drive from the bottom of Addo to the top, there was large bush obscuring views. I found the staff at River Bend to be really friendly and enjoyed my many conversations with them, particularly time spent talking to Jenna. I also enjoyed talking to Gladys, who worked in the kitchen. She and I share an interest in sewing with Shweshwe. We highly recommend River Bend. It is truly a 5 star experience.

Woodall Country House & Spa is a 5-star property offering luxury accommodation and gourmet cuisine in a peaceful location. The guesthouse is close to Addo Elephant Park and Shamwari Game Reserve. luxury place, very friendly staff, piano playing during dinner, excellent breakfast buffet and dinner.

Situated within the malaria-free Shamwari Private Game Reserve, 9 km from Paterson, Shamwari Bayethe offers luxury tents with a private plunge pool. The setting and the facilities were excellent. We used the Spa which perfectly complemented the Lodge. The rooms were spotlessly clean as were the rest of the facilities.

Long Lee Manor is situated within the malaria-free Shamwari Private Game Reserve, home to the Big 5. The Edwardian-styled manor boasts manicured gardens and overlooks the African plains. We were a bit concerned about the amount of food prepared for the number of visitors. it was not necessary to place so many dishes on the table. better for the guests to order only what they could eat from the menu

Elephants Lodge is located within the malaria-free Bellevue Forest Reserve, home to wildlife such as lion and buffalo. The housekeeping lady was so helpful and went out of her way to even organise a microwave for us. Breakfast was amazing and the team even set up the deck for us overlooking the watering hole. Our daughter loved the tickle tub.

Set on a citrus farm on the banks of the Sundays River, Avoca River Cabins offers game drives, 2 outdoor swimming pools, a children’s playground and conference and wedding facilities. We had a wonderful stay, it's very picturesque and there is so much nature and wildlife. Heinrich was amazingly helpful and booked an amazing guided tour for us to the elephant national park and really went above and beyond to accommodate us. Would highly recommend 👌!

Mountain-top resort surrounded by savannah, Zuurberg provides panoramic views of Addo Elephant National Park. It features an outdoor pool and an array of outdoor activities. We absolutely loved our stay at Zuurberg, and cannot recommend the place enough for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to stay near Addo Elephant Park. The surroundings of the property are gorgeous, nestled in the mountains, and the property itself is also beautiful. Our bedroom looked just like the photos and was very comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Customer service was impeccable and we felt welcome and well looked after from arrival. Alexandra was superb and helped us not only with information about our stay but also with extra tips for our ongoing journey. All the staff were lovely and always ready to help. We also did a whole day game drive and an elephant encounter, both experiences organized by the property and both excellent. Zuurberg was fantastic and we look forward to coming back!
