Rooms were amazing with classic antique furniture, incredible comfortable beds and bedding and very welcome AC in the summer heat. Swimming pool also provided some relief. Dinner was incredible (Karoo lamb chops, ostrich, lamb shank, etc) but probably best thing was the amazing and very welcoming service from Sarita and team.

The small lodges make it feel very personal and intimate. Our drives only had 5 people on a 9/10 passenger vehicle making it very comfortable. The food and drinks were great. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Surrounded by a rose garden, this 5-star hotel is situated en route to the Cango Caves and Ostrich Farms. It offers a wellness centre, well-equipped gym and a beauty clinic.

Rosenhof has an on-site pub and several luxury lounges with fireplaces where guests can relax and admire works from well-known South African artists. We all enjoyed everything about Rosenhof. The attention to detail and attentiveness to guests is amazing. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Mooiplaas Guesthouse is a luxury guest house situated on a working ostrich farm, within 11 km of Oudtshoorn. This owner-managed property offers views of the Swartberg Mountains, an outdoor swimming pool and an on site spa. This guesthouse has a beautiful pool area with nice views. Upon entrance, there are ostriches (behind a fence) greeting you. The property lies next to a road, but there is almost no traffic, so it’s not disturbing. Staff is wonderful (especially Mr Superman John). If in Oudtshoorn, I would definitely recommend this stay, allowing you to do an ostrich farm tour on the property and to relax by the pool.

Each of the spacious rooms at Karoo Retreat- Self Catering Villas and Guest House has a kitchen, and a dining area where a Continental breakfast is served each morning. The rooms are all air-conditioned, equipped with a flat-screen TV and have an en suite bathroom. Communication prior to booking in and check in support was world class. The facilities are clean and modern. Would recommend for a relaxing holiday.

In close proximity you will find a choice of activities, including hiking, mountain biking, and game watching. You can also relax on the sun loungers by the pool or exercise in the property’s fitness centre. Stayed in Mae West, perfectly situated to lie on the deck next to splash pool and look out onto the mountains. Had clear skies in the evening which made stargazing absolutely spectacular. Unit has small fridge and pod coffee machine which was not listed on Booking.com, had I known this I would have brought along some coffee pods.

Buffet and à la carte breakfast options with warm dishes, fresh pastries and pancakes are available. At the property, there is an in-house family-friendly restaurant serving dinner and a selection of vegetarian options. This is one of those very rare places that is much more than just a place to stay. We created great memories here. Do not miss the ostrich farm tour.

Relax in your stylish room set amongst lush indigenous gardens with a patio offering spectacular mountain views. Each is decorated in warm colours. Fabulous place to stay. Staff were exceptional being friendly, polite and very informative. The food was really good. Cost of some selections were cheaper than restaurants outside. The meerkats were an extra bonus Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable. We will be back.
