It was chic yet unpretentious. Our spacious room came equipped with Alessi bathroom fixtures, a very comfortable bed and classy photographs from a wine campaign. Our hostess took the trouble to describe the history of the house and even reserved a table for us at an exceedingly good restaurant.

Housed in an former water mill set by a river, Le Clos de la Vouge is located in the heart of a Burgundy vineyard, between Dijon and Beaune. It features an outdoor swimming pool with a terrace and sun loungers. This property is only 3* however the fittings and service are of much higher standard. We stayed only 1 night on the way from south of France back home to north, so location not too far from the main highway was the main reason we selected to stay here. Staff are super nice and went out of their way to assist. Dogs are welcome. Property is lovingly renovated and managed, with beautiful surrounding greenery. We had a large super comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Property doesn't have dinner service, but they pro-actively informed us and reserved available restaurant in the area, which was really nice experience too. There is plenty of free parking which is always a bonus, when travelling with fully loaded car. There are few wine stores in the village and overall the vineyards vista around is just gorgeous. Loved our stay and will come again.

The gite is located in a farm which is so fantastic. We saw ponies, peacocks and even deer in the wild! Absolutely love the surroundings, it was so easy to walk. We took walks during both nights to the top of the hill, saw so many ponies and the sunset and the villages downhill in the sunset. It's absolutely gorgeous. Speaking of the house itself, it's super clean and we love the interior style. The kitchen was also nice, bonus point, the stove was with actual fire, so it cooks super fast. Super for someone who enjoys cooking.
