Dormy Inn Aomori Natural Hot Spring is set in Aomori, 6 km from Sannai-Maruyama site and 43 km from Tsuta Hot Spring. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Private parking is available on site. Everything: the hotel, the onsen, the facilities, the staff. The onsen was great (inside and outside, the tubs, the sauna, the facilities). Everything was very clean. I also enjoyed the tasty apple juice. I would have liked to stay more there.

Staff was very friendly and easy to talk to, and the inn made for a great stay. Also the sentō baths were a welcome addition and were nice for relaxing into! The area is calm (for which the only downside is that there isn't a lot of choice for restaurants around), close to transportation and good for sightseeing around Mastushima — we took the sightseeing ferry around the bay and had a great time.

The property is allergy-free and is set 5.8 km from Sannai-Maruyama site. I loved that it is basically inside the station and I could get to the stores without getting cold. Also, I LOVED that I could finally have an Onsen and a Gym! Finally, the room was spatious, I had a beautiful view for the Bridge and the staff very very kind. Ah! And for breakafast I could order truffle omelet and eggs benedict (aomori style maybe due to the apple) and they were great!

This 3-star ryokan offers a housekeeping service and private check-in and check-out. Tsuta Hot Spring is 36 km away and Hirosaki Castle is 22 km from the ryokan. This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Takasagoya Ryokan offers a public bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Zao Onsen, 200 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The ryokan features family rooms. Warmest accommodations I’ve ever received. I loved every aspect of the place - sleeping, living, dining, showering, onsen, accessibility to the slopes. This is a beautiful place! The owners were very nice and they were very forgiving of our mistakes and helped out with our request.

The guest house has family rooms. It’s easy to go skiing or snowboarding. The lift is just next to the hotel. The hotel owner is kind and funny. I have a great experience here.

It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the propert and free parking is on-site. A wonderful ryokan in Aizuwakamatsu, with the most helpful and diligent staff! I never went a day without being completely full, my breakfast and dinner were absolutely wonderful! The bath area was calming and spotless clean! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Set 500 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Pension Puutaro offers 3-star accommodation in Zao Onsen and features a garden. The staff at Pension Puutaro were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Highly recommend for their exceptional hospitality!
