It’s a small local hotel with a beautiful pool overlooking the Sea. At waterfront on both sides is a fishing village with wonderful families who I interacted with everyday, was invited to their parties, and invited to go fishing with them. All of this is the flavor of the Philippines. I don’t fly 9,000 miles to stay in a western type resort. 22 days at A Villas is a treat, understanding the culture. Many poor people, but I’ve never met more humble or happier people anywhere in the world. I stayed in the cottage (only 1) at waters edge, a/c, modern, clean, and I open my door and interacted with the fishing village folks everyday, who treated me like one of their own. It’s not a 3,4,5 Star Hilton, but it’s a wonderful experience. I actually became self appointed pool skimmer/cleaner everyday. Staff set the skimmer out for me daily. Staff got me a new scooter that I rented for $10.- day, and will be continuing this reveal for another week. I married my wife in the Philippines 29 years ago, she had to return to USA earlier than me. I’m very familiar with the Philippines. This offers the flavor of a local Philippine resort. I’ll be back. There will be a little culture shock for some, for sure, but there’s so much to be gained from this local hotel. Vincent/New York

This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space. The air-conditioned rooms provide a city view and come with a desk and free WiFi. We had booked this as we had been up since 2am and were trying to get a ferry to Siquijor which was fully booked. We chose this out of never due to its proximity to the port and price point. This turned out to be a gem. The property was clean and the bed was large it had a 7/11 downstairs and also a cafe too. The staff were so helpful, they let us check in early so we could sleep. And called a tuk tuk for us when it was time to leave for the ferry, as well as giving us helpful tips regarding the ferry. If only I had remembered because I would’ve left Siquijor earlier and then stayed the night again before flying out to Coron.

I loved the restaurant and pool. I loved the chef specials! The location was great(near diving and Apo Island excursions. The property is immaculate.

Situated along the coastline, Kav's Beach Resort features an outdoor pool, fitness centre, lush green gardens and free WiFi access in the public areas. It is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk from St. Peter Chapel and a 15-minute walk from Zamboangita Market. The proximity to the beach cannot be understated. I absolutely loved having the variety of food and drinks with a water view. My girlfriend and I steadily ate our way through the menu for the few days we were there. We managed to find many things we liked! Also, my girlfriend and I befriended a few dogs at the resort that followed us around. The dog that spent the most time with us was a tan and white Aspin/Ascal named Charles. I was sure to include Charles the dog in one of the pictures because he often followed us to our tables for meals. This meant a lot to us because we have dogs we are missing on our vacation.
