Lovely Japanese hotel. Great breakfast and welcoming hosts. We had a car so we could drive into Shibu Onsen to look around this lovely little village.
Everything! The ambience, the facilities, the hostesses, the onsen and the entire village. A truly amazing experience to visit❤️
Authentic village close to the snow monkeys park. You can use a private onsen for free.
Great budget rustic authentic experience. Ability to have a private onsen at the hotel as well as the hotels separate onsen. Hint- male side is heaps better than female side. Jealous. Proximity to snow monkeys , onsens and quaint onsen town all great. Not luxurious but rooms large still great
Loved everything about the place and the staff were so friendly - felt like a large and luxurious home. Also they have they have most cute dog. It's about a 100 meters from the piste. Oh - oh, and the food is amazing, such a journey into Japanese during our 3 days and 3 dinners!
Such welcoming staff and the best of ski in/out. Don't expect luxurious surrounds inside but the lovely staff make up for it. Large ( comparatively speaking) rooms and indoor onsen, ski hire in hotel and directly opposite.
It was at the ski slope directly. It’s in a busy village with restaurants (not so many choice, but better than nothing)
It’s VERY quiet if you like quiet. It’s a ski-in-ski-out, great for family with kids, or a big group of friends. But keep in mind there is no village. You have to eat dinner at the hotel, unless you have a car. But the owner was super lovely! Would stay there again just because of the owner!
• Staff - family-run villa, nice homely vibe and a lovely Japanese family who did their best to support us throughout the trip. • Onsen - common to have one in Japan, but still worth mentioning that its nice, clean and open 24h. • Food quality - dinners were nice, all ingredients were fresh and tasted great. • Bar - decent selection of wines and beers at good prices, and warm atmosphere with a nice fireplace. • Gear rental - skis, snowboards, boots were all great, fairly priced, and service + ski knowledge was top level.
The room was great. Had everything we needed to stay warm and cosy. Loved the traditional feel of the room and ryokan. The 2 private onsens were great, good self-booking system for these. The underground passage to the standing bar was unique and quirky. Parts of the building are historic but was also very clean. Toiletries provided; and slippers, yukata and geta wooden shoes available to borrow. The village itself, Shibu Onsen, was brilliant with the 9 public bath houses, and forest walk to the snow monkey bathing pool.
