This is a hotel located just across the street from the beach and it is very affordable! It has a retro charm - it's clean, quiet, and everything was comfortable. You can walk to restaurants and there is a heated pool! It doesn't have all the latest updates or a bunch of frills - but it is more than comfortable. Fans are included in each room and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

The hotel location is a 10. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and we were able to upgrade to a nicer room. My only disappointment was the extra $50 per night in fees and the $33 per night parking charge when there was ample parking and we parked ourselves. This should definitely be included in the cost. We literally spent $80+per night extra than we expected.

We loved the old mission and spend a lot of time in the hotel.
I didn‘t like the pier. Everywhere were cars and parking lots instead of nice sitting opportunities. there were a lot of homeless people, too.

Santa Barbara was absolutely beautiful!!!
Santa Barbara was absolutely beautiful!!! It was really lush and green there! The wildflowers were blooming everywhere! The mountains and hills were super lush and green and very beautiful! The Botanical Gardens are incredible and are filled with poppies and wildflowers! The Mission, Courthouse, State Street, Stearns Wharf, and Alice Peck Park are all amazing places to visit! The weather was a perfect 73 degrees for most of my trip, until the last day. The people were all very nice and pleasant to deal with. Brophy's, at the Harbor has the best fish and chips that I have ever had!! There were some whales right off of the Harbor that I was privileged to see! There was also an awesome feeding frenzy that brought in hundreds of pelicans and cormorants to dive into the water at the same time!! It was phenomenal to watch. People who have lived in Santa Barbara all of their lives have never seen anything like it!!! It was an absolutely amazing trip!

We visited in February when unknown to us was the film festival, the weather was perfect, town seemed quiet even with film festival which was a bonus, still able to grab tickets. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, lots with outdoor eating with patio heaters. We enjoyed the SB Whale watching trip we did, small exclusive boat made us feel VIPs and saw plenty of humpback whales. Easy to walk around the town, but also easy to drive and explore neighbouring Montecito

Great place to visit, especially with wonderful weather.
Great place to visit, especially with wonderful weather.
For seafood, Lure is amazing!!! Chad's and Cajun Kitchen are great breakfast spots.
If you are there on Sunday, see the Art/Craft Market at the Beach. Lots of amazing stuff and all the vendors are so friendly.
Also, a huge recommendation to Olive Hill Farms in Los Olivos. Great place for oils and vinegars.
This is a great hotel to stay if you are visiting Santa Barbara. The hotel is located quite close to the beaches and other attractions. The hotel also offers free parking. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. They also have a microwave and a fridge. Other than that, the room also have a coffee machine and free coffee. The hotel also has an onsite laundry that the guest can use. It also has a restaurant that is open until 8:30pm. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Great hotel and I can recommend it to anyone.
This hotel was amazing! Our room was basically an apartment with a kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom with a walk in closet. I do like to clean my room upon arriving to a hotel and it was already spotless. When we requested our room to be cleaned, they were so quick, but thorough! Breakfast was light (egg bites, yogurt, pastries), but very good. The location was awesome. Near the beach, gas stations, freeway, restaurants, and little markets. Probably the best hotel we've ever been to!
I stayed at this hotel last trip to Santa Barbara and came back because of the location, value, and comfortable stay. More Mesa is a fantastic place to run in the morning.
The staff were nice and trying their best within Covid precautions (and dealing with lots of complaining about the precautions).
The lagoon area is beautiful and it was fun watching the ducks, crane, and bunny! I guess sitting out here for wifi was worth it.
The reception process was easy and very friendly. The hotel is located on Union Street, the main street of that wonderful town Santa Barbara. It takes approx a 10 minute walk to reach the lovely atmospheric restaurant part of Union Street. You will find a great choice of restaurants and sights on that street. The beds were comfortable and clean. We got a nice breakfast.
The owner was friendly and honest. I was so tired I did not realize l left my cell phone at the lobby. I was in my room less than five minutes. Someone knocks on the door and it was the hotel owner with my cell phone! My room was clean with a comfortable bed. I was in town for the Santa Barbara Film Festival and the hotel was on the same street as the theatre!
The location was very central and easy drive to downtown Santa Barbara, the beach and even Costco😄. We enjoyed our visit, my children loved the area and the inn. They said it was fancy. They loved the hot tub and pool. I loved the gardens, the smell of jasmin as you walk along the path towards Terra. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Everything about this hotel was perfect - we absolutely loved our stay, so much that we stayed for another evening! The pool is well heated, staff are so friendly, you are greeted by warm cookies and refreshments and the rooms are so clean and spacious. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else whilst in Santa Barbara!
Sunset Hotel is ok. It's good for the price in Santa Barbara, but not more. The lady at the reception was very friendly, the room was clean, but rather small. No breakfast due to covid restrictions what I don't really understand, since all the restaurants are open without any restrictions.
Great location, close enough to downtown Santa Barbara but not in the busy area so it was nice to have a quiet stay. Area was nice and felt safe. Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Felt it was priced a bit high but it was a holiday weekend. Would definitely stay there again.
Clean, central, and highly stylish rooms and a great backyard. Very close to touristic attractions and have a five star restaurant in it. Staff was helpful and very friendly. I would probably stay in the same hotel if i ever visit the Santa Barbara again.
Perfect hotel for our visit to Santa Barbara. Right on the beach and within easy walking distance to loads of food and drink places, especially the funk zone. We loved chilling out by the fire pits in the evenings. The rooms and decor are just lovely!
Historic hotel in downtown Santa Barbara, good location, fantastic ambiance. I came early and dropped my luggage off and they texted me when my room was ready. The front desk staff was friendly and super competent. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Huge room size with view of the ocean. Beach was located right across the street, but the hotel was a little far from the main downtown area. The only option to park your car is with the hotel's paid valet. Nice amenities (pool, gym, bocce court).
The location was perfect for getting to downtown Santa Barbara and the pier. It was so close to everything. But also not in too crowded of an area. It was nice to be able to drop in and rest in the middle of the day before heading back out.
Great place to stay!! I would stay there again or use another Motel6 on my experience at this location.
Overall decor of the room was good. Located near the beach and just 15-20 minutes walk from the town centre and Funky area.
The hotel was very convenient to downtown Santa Barbara and many restaurants within walking distance. The interior grounds were gorgeous, a very relaxing atmosphere.
