This hotel was our absolute highlight on our trip through Finnland. From the very first step until saying goodbye the experience was great! The personnel - everybody - friendly and supportive. The breakfast was great so we decided to stay for dinner - that was outstanding! The room very luxurious, with lots of space and comfortable beds. I don’t think you need a lot of time here in the spring or summer because a few of the tours don’t operate but it’s still worth visiting. Beautiful pristine area that reminds you of the beauty of nature.

The town lives in the shadow of Santa Claus Village but is worth sightseeing for itself. The modern architecture, the Arcticum museum, good infrastructure, nice surroundings - there is much to see and do for a couple of days.

A nice town at the arctic circle, museums, sporting facilities, theatre, shopping malls, reastaurants, hotels. It has an airport connected with Helsinki, Dublin, Brusseles (and perhaps more).
There is a whole village dedicated to the Santa Claus theme.
There are buildings made from ice during the winter, some hotels and wedding-places among them.

Rovaniemi is a really great city to visit.
Rovaniemi is a really great city to visit. In winter the city is under a lot of snow but has always trucks to get the snow out of the road, small rocks on the pavement to prevent from falling.
Rovaniemi has a lot of green tracks and its is lovely to follow them along the river. Great places for children to play too.
For dinner time, I can recommend the MonteRosa restaurant in the city center. Great and friendly service from all the employees, excellent food and drinks. (I can recommend the salmon soup, the grilled salmon and the reindeer cooked two ways).
For lunch, I went to Cafe & Bar 21. It was busy from 12 to 15 (I guess very popular) but nonetheless very enjoyable. Combining the bar/coffee with Yuca (a mexican restaurant) is great because people can have different lunch if wished. The deserts are also excellent.
For the activities, everybody can found something that they like. For the french people you can found the Nordic Odyssey office to book activities with a french translator (even if the english explanation I had where really understanding). It can always be helpful for the people who can't speak english.
You can found supermarket everywhere and some of them are open until 22:00 which is great.

I loved it all..the taxis are quite expensive but the bus was great..I loved it that much I wanted to extend my stay. I will be back to chase the Aurora, unfortunately it didn’t so due to skies full of snow.

Santa from the city center was better than the one in SCV (at least for us). He was really communicative, giving us tips and tricks for aurora hunting. After we bought a picture we could take more with our own phone, made videos for our friends etc.
We love that there are different places where you can barbeque during the walking.
Lake from Artikum museum is a good place to see aurora. Loved the winter trails.
Souvenirs are cheaper in SCV than in the city center.
Very close to the airport
Beautiful view and cozy rooms
they really maximized the storage space in the room in a way that you don’t fill it’s taking space from the actual room size
Breakfast is absolutely delicious it is in my top 3 of all the breaks fast I did around the world quality and choice
The overall customer service is fantastic
I advise to book activities though the hotel as they are dealing with the best tour operators so yes it might be a little more expensive but worth it.
What a beautiful place ! The igloo surrounding by the forest is very cute, the view is beautiful ! You also have a great sauna. The best place to see Northern lights if the sky is clear enough.
We enjoyed the local food, the snowshoes and all nice time we had with the staff !
Just a thing you need to know, is that the shower isn’t in the igloo but in the Sauna, which was not an issue for us.
If you want an authentic experience, it’s the place you must go !
Everything! It’s fully equipped, nicely decorated, very clean, modern, spacious, comfortable, great shower pressure. The sauna is definitely the extra touch and so worth it. Great location close walk to the center and bus stops. Quick, easy communication with Topias the host. He even thought of us for a last minute Northern Lights Tour because conditions were good. We saw them! Thanks Topias. Your apartment made our stay in Rovaniemi even more memorable.
The hotel, despite its remote location from the city centre and lack of public transportation options, is located in a natural forest park adjacent to a ski resort's chairlifts. The superior rooms and those offering views are notably pleasant. The restaurant and sky balcony have a very good view over the forest and Rovaniemi city. Both the breakfast and buffet (dinner) are commendable for their quality and variety.
A great location in the centre of town with a park for kids outside. Sledding and an ice rink in the park! It was a perfect place to stay.
Clean and warm. Warm being very important in December in Finland!
Lots of space in the apartment and a great host. We could not have asked for anything more from Joel. We (family of 4 with 2 kids aged 4 & 8) recommend very highly.
we have loved our stay at nova Skyland resort! the space is immaculate and the staff is wonderful! The food and drinks at the hotel were some of the best we have ever had. the hotel is close to Santa Claus village and easy to get tours in and out of. highly recommend this hotel for those staying in Lapland!
For a summer trip in Finland, this is really a unique place to stay at... and you get to meet Santa in person, too. :-). But seriously all was excellent... the friendly and helpful reception staff, breakfast, etc. The 1.5 km long Santa Claus Forest Nature Trail gives a short but good hiking experience.
Helpful, pleasant staff and good location near to the centre of Rovaniemi. Reasonably priced for two nights and generally very functional. The bathroom, shower and sauna were clean and a good size.
Generally a good stay, but it definitely feels like a sports centre first and a hotel second.
Beautiful city centre hotel. Right in the heart of Rovaniemi. Location was excellent. Cosy little apartment. Has everything you need. Owner was very responsive with messages. Bed has a memory foam mattress which was very comfortable. Would recommend for a couple. Decor was fabulous.
Right at the heart of Rovaniemi with everything you need within a walking distance! The team quickly addressed an issue with our rooms, which made our stay flawless. Good that the hotel has among its installations a sports bar and a restaurant. Both are really good.
Perfect place to stay.. Close to one of the best spots to see the auroras (black of the Artikum museum). Clean & comfortable. At first we were looking for a hotel room but with the snow and the vibe of Rovaniemi this apartment was so cozy. Highly recommend.
From the start Max and his fellow reception staff could not have been more helpful - the hotel was an oasis to return to in true arctic conditions as low as - 32 C temperatures. The room was comfortable and we had a great 3 days in Rovaniemi
Beautiful hotel! Stunning views from the rooms.
Your own private sauna is Amazing! Fire place and snack bar was lovely. The hotel was located in a great area with beautiful winter walking trails and not too far a walk from town.
Great location. Bus stop is in front of the hotel. Hotel is located neer the center of Rovaniemi by the river. Nice park for kida neer by. Room is nice and clean. Food is great. Nice sauna and pool. Free parking
The stuff was really kind and helpfull, the room was cozy, its close to the city center, well Rovaniemi is small, the shuttle airbus from the airport stops to this hotel!, clean hotel, good wifi,
everything was simply fantastic! perfect location, perfect rooms, perfect breakfast. one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and would for sure recommend it to anyone visiting Rovaniemi.
The breakfast was as good as last time we visited Arctic light hotel. Cheeses, alcohol free sparkling wine, little bakeries and ”more basic” breakfast food were great at the breakfast.
Extremely helpful and friendly reception staff, amazing breakfast and a great location! Price high but at that time of the year in Rovaniemi all the hotels are expensive!
