Room was spacious with a lovely garden view. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast food was good especially the almond croissant. Location is excellent. Situated in the town centre and easily walkable to shops, pubs and restaurants.

Nothing! The room stank of gloss paint - it was overpowering. The bed was ok, however the linen was “brand new” and still had the manufacturers dressing on it. The bathroom had a lock on the outside of the door, but, importantly , not one on the inside of the door. The mirror was suspended by string, was heavy, and if dislodged would have caused serious damage. There were no net curtains, to provide some privacy at ground floor level. The television didn’t work. The only light switch in the room meant having to switch off, by the door, and then blindly find your way to bed. There was no catering, no breakfast, and no evening meal. The man on the desk was very rude and not helpful, or interested. To be charged £120, for this lack of any hospitality, is an insult and a disgrace. The “hotel” should be closed until such time as it is able to provide any hospitality. The description on booking.com, is absolutely and totally misleading. We were advised £100 and then billed for £120, adds insult to injury. And it makes our faith in booking.com, severely tested, and in doubt for any future bookings. There are many other booking agents.

Ideal quiet location, close to all amenities of Banbury, on a main bus route. Property was clean and tidy, the room was very comfortable, with everything you would need for a short stay.

The property was a period public house that had a great sense of history of which the owners have retained. Plenty of space for parking added to the pleasure and ease of the visit.

Banbury is a nice little stop over and we were lucky to book such lovely accommodation. The bed was snug and comfortable and the room bright and fresh. Breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our one night stay. Thanks Sian!

Banbury is an expanding commuter town, that was once a small market town.
Unfortunately the market is no where near as large as it once was. The town centre is busy and has all the amenities you could wish for . Two pubs worth a visit are The Reindeer and The White Horse.
Regretfully there is very little here of historical interest due to inept planning in the 60s and 70s, there are however some wonderful places to visit close by

Banbury is a fabulous place to visit, and stay.
Banbury is a fabulous place to visit, and stay. Plenty of things to do, ideally situated to explore the 5 counties. Town centre is good, but its the nightlife that excels, plenty of great pubs serving real ales, and plenty of mulit-cultural cusine, but you can still slum it with American fat food too if you so desire.

I was not visiting Banbury, the hotel is in Deddington 6 miles south of Banbury. I/we were staying for family reasons, but you would probably stay at the hotel for its location in relation to the Cotswold in general.

Charming hotel located in a small village of thatched cottages. We only stayed one night as a stop-over on our way to see other parts of the UK. I did not research the area to see what was near by for those who may want to stay more nights. Loved the decor and had a lovely outside garden area to relax, and enjoy drinks or meal. Food was very good, reasonably priced and friendly service. Dinner service was a bit slow however.
We stayed at Virginia House en route to London from the Lake District. Unfortunately, our stay was too short! This B&B was one of the best all-around accommodations of our three-week trip to England and Scotland. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the location perfect for our needs, and the breakfast fresh and varied. We had brioche French toast, which was not offered at any other B&B. Mike and Barbara are warm & friendly hosts. If we are able to return on another vacation, Virginia House will be on top of our list!
The room was large and very clean although the sloping ceiling and very low door proves a challenge for someone who is 6ft. The bathroom was very clean and the breakfast was excellent and served promptly and with a smile. Parking was easy and we were met by friendly staff. I must say it was nice to see a hotel still adhering to Covid rules. So many have dispensed with them to their detriment.
Lovely property set within a small village, very quiet at night, parked car on road opposite property, safe and secure nice residential area, 10 mins into centre of Banbury 15 mins to M40. Plenty of restaurants around of all types. Breakfast was just perfect, freshly cooked and great selection, cereal, full cooked breakfast, cafetiere of freshly ground coffee, nice selection of toast,.
The hotel room was lovely; nice, modern and clean, with good facilities. The hotel also looked the part from outside too, and was situated not too far from the centre of Banbury, meaning we were at walking distance from the town, which was nice. Helen was an excellent host too, very friendly and welcoming. For what we got, the value for money was great as well.
The location of this hotel from the main centre is excellent. The gentleman who I guess is the proprietor was very friendly. I liked the fact the our room was in the car park area as opposed to the main hotel. Also, if you're using the hotel as accommodation for going to a special event, there is an iron and ironing board which some hotels and B&B's lack.
AnExceptional breakfast for the price of the hotel. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Stayed in a dog friendly room, where the bed was so comfy, and the towels were pristine white. Lovely beer garden, and fantastic value for money. Would not hesitate to stay if travelling through Banbury.
I liked the very old nature of the hotel - not good for people with mobility issues as there are so many steps up down and around. My room was a long attic with bathroom at one end, central dressing area and bed at the far end. The bed was very comfortable and the food very good.
great location - 10 minute walk to town. Lovely friendly hosts - gave excellent tip on where to eat. Lovely comfy bed and bright spacious room with nice ensuite. Beautiful gardens - if in Banbury area again will definitely use this B & B again. Great also if visiting Oxford.
Bed was comfy, big pillows, nice temperature room and we were in a quiet room away from the slamming door to our annexe of hotel rooms downstairs.
Large bathroom, clean towels. Food at breakfast was nice and they were able to give me some gluten free toast and soya milk.
Very clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable. The neighborhood appeared safe and for the most part, quiet. Beautiful park with an aviary and rose garden nearby. Can walk to grocery stores and more shops. Even walked to Castle Quay. Very charming area.
Breakfast was not provided. I could not access the wifi, though it was there. On price, it was on the expensive side, being only just a little more exclusive than a room in someone's house, but more affordable than the Band Bs and hotels in the area.
Perfect location for exploring Banbury and the surrounding area, easy walking distance to restaurants and other places to eat. Immaculate house, spotless accommodation and generous well cooked and presented breakfast. Friendly and welcoming host.
Good location in the centre of an attractive north Oxfordshire village. Plenty of interesting places to visit in the surrounding area. Welcoming bar and dining areas. Ample car parking. Quality bedding and towels.
Very nice, clean room with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious. The service was great. We loved the location. It was close to the quaint little town of Banbury and Banbury Cross. Highly recommend!
Easy to find and a very handy location for a night out in Banbury. Cheerful welcome and the the host allocated me a room with an extra long bed. Very fast wi-fi, which made me realise how poor other places are
Convenient location for work. The food was excellent. The hot water for the bath and shower was hot as it should be, not like the nanny state Premier Inn who pre set the max temperature for you.
Lovely quiet room in the pleasant hotel. Easy access to Oxford, Bicester and the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent and much better than expected.
Lovely to find this little place in a quiet village. The landlord could not have been more welcoming. I will gladly return next time I am in that area.
